4 minute readA Few Reasons Why We Are Thankful
By Kyle Christopher
Reliant Technology has seen a lot in the last year, and we have much for which to give thanks. For many people, the holidays bring out reminders of the highs and lows of our life experiences. These times can challenge us as well as help us not only to grow, but also to become more firmly rooted, giving us ways to find strength in our friends, family, customers, and colleagues.
At Reliant, we also have much to be thankful for on the business side. We have hired several new team members – engineers and account executives, marketing gurus and administrative help. As a consequence, we are able to provide an even better customer experience while maintaining a fantastic work-hard, play-hard mentality.
Here are a few of the highlights from 2013.
1. Community Involvement
From 5K races to breast cancer awareness events, Reliant employees have been able to give back in ways that matter. Many of our friends, family, and customers have been personally affected by hardship. A few of our customers were directly affected by the tornados that struck our country back in May. While tragic, these events allowed Reliant a unique opportunity to serve our customers in ways we never expected. We were able to visit our customers on-site and have a hand in rebuilding their businesses. These experiences allow us to get to know our customers first-hand. Our customers learn from us, but we also learn from them. The result is a true partnership that extends beyond the traditional bounds of customer and vendor.
2. Our New Offices!
In January, Reliant moved into our new office space in Midtown Atlanta. This allowed us to expand to better meet the needs of our existing customers as well as grow our business. We are now seeing results. Our new on-site testing lab ensures that each product we send out is ready for installation and will meet required performance expectations.
It also turns out that our new office space was once a television studio owned by the Food Network. Half of our building is actually a soundstage, and we have had a few Hollywood folks and well-known musicians come visit and use our space. When it’s not in use, it serves part-time as an employee basketball court. It has helped make our work environment even more unique.
3. Halloween Costumes
Gumby, Walter White, Spider Woman, a giant chicken man in outer space, a wizard, and an EMC drive. We went all out for Halloween this year. To top it off we held competitions, in costume. It’s the simple things, y’all. Visit our Facebook page to check out some of the madness.
4. The Holidays
December always promises to be a jam-packed month full of dinners, parties, ugly sweaters and annoying relatives. We take it all in stride. We’re looking forward to our annual Christmas dinner here in a couple weeks at a local restaurant and then some party action. Things could get cray. Yes, you read that right.
5. More Goodness
We would be lying if we said we weren’t crushin’ it. We’ve got a lot on our plate right now. We’re completely revamping our website. We now have a lot more learning resources available and our customers are happier than ever. We are offering educational videos, white papers, blogs, and randomness on our Facebook page. The list goes on. We’ve got a lot more in the hopper for 2014, so you stay tuned. Don’t touch that dial because you don’t know where it has been.
Oh, and if you’re ever in the Atlanta and want to stop by and say hi, we’d love to see you! Who knows? We just might dress you up in a chicken costume.
