A bomb threat cleared a Google Data Center in Berkeley County, South Carolina this morning. Local media reported that a note was found which stated that a bomb would be activated at 9 a.m. As of the publishing of this article, no threat was found.
A Google spokesperson addressed the threat. “Our first priority is the safety and security of everyone on the site. We’re working with the relevant authorities to investigate the situation and are grateful to emergency services for their thorough and timely assistance.”
The security threat is unusual as all Google data centers are protected by tight security measures.
