Job Description

If you are looking for an opportunity to work with and become part of a team of six engineers: grow your skillset with continuing education, focus on customer data center issues involving hardware break-fix for servers, switches, and storage arrays; manage the health of their IT assets and have a knack for keeping internal and external stakeholders engaged, we’d love to hear from you.

As the newest member of our team, you will work with the Engineering Manager and rest of the team to ensure predictable, consistent, and successful resolution of break-fix cases. We will provide training and Reliant has an on-site lab for tinkering and upskilling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Familiar with servers in general, and have working knowledge of IBM / Lenovo xSeries servers. Knowledge in IBM Power Systems, IBM zSeries, or AIX a plus.
  • Have basic networking skills with either Cisco or Brocade switches.
  • Some familiarity with IBM storage systems; DS series, XIV, or SVC a plus.
  • You are comfortable instructing customers on what diagnostics are required to open and log a case, how to gather and review logs.
  • You can collaborate with team members, communicate, and mitigate risks to open cases, and interface in a professional manner directly with the customer.
  • You enjoy building relationships to develop the partnership network of data center engineering services and contractors.
  • You are skilled at defining project governance, outlining roles, responsibilities, decision rights and clearly defined escalation paths.


You have experience doing these sorts of things:

  • Problem-solver and be able to manage problems when they arise.
  • Scoping, planning, and managing the delivery of projects focused around various data center technologies (Servers, storage and Network).
  • Serve as a technical point of contact on customer engagements.
  • Work directly with the internal support team and assign adequately Field Engineers and the Professional Services Partners.
  • Collaborate with the internal Engineering team to ensure the proper scope of work for all delivery projects.
  • Analyze existing capabilities and establish new processes and standards for the tracking,
  • measurement, reporting, and analysis of all break-fix cases.
  • Manage activity planning, scheduling, and resource planning.
