5 minute readPure Storage: New Kid in the Neighborhood

Pure Storage created its own niche in the IT world

Pure Storage created its own niche in the IT world with Pure Storage Flash, SSD, FlashArray, FlashBlade, FlashStack, AIRI, and FlashRecover. While existing companies continued offering storage, service, and network maintenance products and services similar to one another, Pure Storage took a new bent.

Founded in 2009, Pure Storage developed its products of all-flash data storage hardware and software products in stealth mode until 2011. Their single-mindedness of purpose led them to a unique position in the IT industry. While others, such as NetApp, Dell EMC, or Hitachi, followed suit into flash data, their energies were split, while Pure Storage was focused and continued to improve their position in the market.

Benefits of Flash Storage

Flash Storage has been around for a while, and while we excel in keeping your legacy storage equipment running, it can be worth taking the time to consider an upgrade. In this case, Flash Storage, where Pure Storage shines, has some great attributes:

  • High level of security
  • Faster, more efficient, which means less expensive
  • More scalable
  • Less prone to data loss
  • Consumes 50% less power than HDDs

Challenges

If you like what you see, and what you hear, and what you can count in the way of speed savings, but, there are still concerns such as cost. Switching companies is not always quick and easy.

Pure Storage offers cloud migration, data protection, cloud automation, and AWS Outposts

When you started with NetApp, EMC, or Hitachi, they were a great fit for you. You received everything you needed. You have built relationships with reps who will want you to continue with them. Still, you find yourself wanting to move from your current storage system to an all-flash system like Pure Storage’s.

Why wouldn’t you? Pure Storage offers all-flash data storage hardware and software systems. They have options for cloud migration, data protection, cloud automation, and AWS Outposts. But, as an IT Leader, you need to be sure it’s the best decision.

Risks of Moving On

There are challenges and risks when transitioning from one system to another:

  • Potential loss of data
  • The time involved – it could, and probably will, take longer than you expect
  • Cost of contracts that are no longer needed
  • Unwanted attention from sales reps

So Many Questions!

As you move from NetApp, EMC, and Hitachi you will need help through your transition. What happens to your existing data, while you’re moving? What do you say to your old sales agents who are pushing you to stay with them? Is there a safe place, a partner, to help you through this process?

Service:

Reliant Technology can help you through your transition
Can you really get faster service from Pure Storage than your existing provider? Absolutely. Is it more efficient? Yep. Is it more scalable? You bet. Does it have a higher capacity than spinning disk storage? Again, absolutely. What happens to your existing data, while you’re moving? You don’t want the reps going to your clients. Reliant Technology, a leader in Third-Party Maintenance Optimization, can help you through your transition. You can buy maintenance during your data center migration, with additional options to decommission, data-wipe, ship, and remove legacy equipment.

Pressure:

TPM has your back
Are you feeling pressured to stay with your current provider? You can keep EMC, NetApp, and other OEMs out of your deals by turning to a Third Party Maintenance provider. You can move forward, knowing that your TPM has your back, while saving you money.

Cost:

Save 50% or More
Is it a wise financial decision? Positively! When you switch from current providers to Pure Storage, using Reliant Technology during your transition, savings will cover all costs. Since you save 50%, or more, on maintenance compared to OEM contracts, there is a huge savings that will cover the costs of the migration.

Make Your Move

Switching to Pure Storage will involve displacing EMC, NetApp, or another OEM. Reliant Technology offers you a support, migration, and decommission plan that keeps EMC, NetApp, and OEMs out of your accounts, supports competitive technology brands for the interim migration period, and migrates, then decommissions and adds storage on an as-needed basis.

You will no longer have to rely on EMC or NetApp for maintenance. You can shorten your maintenance agreement to whatever you need during your data migration, helping you save.
